Homework 10: FINAL PROPOSAL PRESENTATION
(November 20th, 2006)
For the next four weeks, you will be working on a final game created in Flash. This will count for around 35% of your
final grade. You will have class time to work on your games. Make the most of this time, and prepare technical questions
specific to your project for me.
Final Game Proposals
[ due next week ]
- Next week I want you to come to class with a prepared presentation proposing what your final project
is going to be. I want you to be specific as possible about what you are going to make, why you are making it,
and how you are going to make it. Support your proposal with slides / existing games / sketches / resources. If you are continuing
with your midterm, you should have an even more specific plan for how you are going to proceed. Use the following as a general
structure for your presentation:
- Title/Subtitle
- Abstract of concept - A quick overview your idea. An overview of what you are interested in making.
- Context/Research - Show at other games / projects that are similar, and critque them. Point out their strengths
and weaknesses.
- Methodology - Explain the details of how its going to work, including its relationship to the other projects you just
showed. How is it going to be different, how is it similar?
- Milestones, Goals & Timeline - What do you expect to have by each week, and what do you have planned to
have finished by the end of the semester.
- Challenges - What are the unknowns? What don't you know how to implement? What are its potential weaknesses.
